This advanced-level class is designed for teen performers who are ready to take their musical theatre training to the next level by diving deep into the art of the duet. Focusing on classic musical theatre repertoire, students will explore how to build connection and chemistry with a scene partner while delivering emotionally compelling, vocally polished performances.

Each duet will serve as a mini scene study, with students learning how to break down a song’s emotional beats, define character objectives, and make bold, truthful choices that bring the storytelling to life. The class will also focus on vocal technique—specifically blending harmonies, phrasing, breath control, and interpreting lyrics with intention.

Through partner work, students will develop essential skills such as active listening, giving and receiving focus, and staying grounded in the relationship between characters. Repertoire will be drawn from a range of classic musical theatre styles, helping students gain a strong foundation in the tone, structure, and performance demands of the genre.
