Description

In this class, students will focus on building a strong foundation in vocal technique, breath support, and music theory fundamentals. They will explore key concepts such as pitch accuracy, proper vocal warm-ups, and the importance of breath control for singing with power and precision. Through guided exercises, students will learn how to use their voices efficiently, avoiding strain and improving vocal stamina. In addition to these technical skills, students will dive into music theory basics, including understanding music notation, key signatures, and time signatures. By developing a solid grasp of music theory, they will gain the tools to read and interpret written music with confidence. The goal of the class is to cultivate self-sufficiency as performers, so students will work on refining their ability to study, learn, and prepare music independently, while also supporting their fellow cast members. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the technical and musical knowledge to approach music with greater confidence, and they will be prepared to contribute meaningfully to any group performance.
