Description

Join Dr. Brad Hayashi and hone your vocal techniques. This class will begin with a focus on classical training as a reference point to modify the voice to sing in any other genre, including musical theater. After the first two weeks, the remainder of the lessons will be immersed in musical theater literature, exploring and applying the following principles and techniques:
  • Rhythmic activity and accuracy (Are your audiences trying to guess the words you are really singing?)
  • Learning to sing correctly in extreme upper and lower ranges (Changing the voice instrument to match the music)
  • How to project your voice without fatigue and injury (a must for the musical theater performer!)
  • Dynamics, phrasing, and pacing (Tell the story! Be the character!)

NOTE: Enrollment in this class would be elementary students through the 7th grade for this coming school year. If the student’s voice has already gone through a voice change, then they should enroll in the Teen class.
