Class Description

This class is being offered on EAST SIDE.
In this class we will explore together a deeper appreciation for improv and character development which helps the student develop their acting potential and sharpen their skills in interpreting scripts.  We will do all of this through individual and group exercises, improvisations and scene studies. You will learn to play, to connect, and to heighten your awareness by getting outside your comfort zone and rediscovering your natural spontaneity and flexibility.  We will learn how to create compelling theater just by being present in the moment.

Audrie Ford will be the assistant teacher.

Christy Watson

Christy fell in love with theater at an early age and has been involved in it for the past 30 years. She earned her Associate of the Arts degree in Theater and Liberal Arts from Pima Community College. Over the years she has been able to share her talents and love of the theater in professional, community and church productions. Christy has worked as a Director, Technical Director, Set Designer, Lighting Designer, Stage Manager as well as an actor and a singer. Some of her recent shows include: Seussical, Cinderella and Word on the Street. Christy’s children Steven (8), Adelaide (6), and husband share her passion for the arts. Husband Ryan is an orchestra teacher for a local middle school and high school, and her children have been involved in a couple of her productions and always want to take the stage. Her family is always there for her while giving her all the love, support and encouragement needed for each show she works on. Christy is excited to come on board with CYT to share that love and passion with others.
