Come join me as we learn how to dance in character shoes! We will be studying different types of character shoes, different styles of dance (anything from a Broadway Musical to the Rockettes) and of course, how to dance in them safely!

A "character shoe" can be any type of shoe that helps an actor embody the role they're taking on - whether that be dress shoes, a pair of heels, Ruby Slippers, boots, or jazz shoes. My goal for this class is to educate your child how to dance in a standard pair of character shoes, how to care for their shoes, and how to strengthen themselves to prevent injuries.

Students will need a pair of standard jazz shoes and a pair of character shoes. Resources for purchase will be shared. For female dancers, I recommend a heel no taller than 2 inches. For male dancers, jazz shoes and dress shoes are recommended.
