Class Description

Life is an improv scene. Students will develop a set of skills that are not only useful for acting and improvising, but that will benefit them in college, in their career, and beyond. They will learn to listen actively, take information at face value, react realistically, and respond with “yes, and”. They will learn to turn fear into opportunity through improv games, scene work, and navigating group scenes. This course will stress the development of trust, character, relationship, environment, and point of view. Some think that improvisers walk onto a stage with nothing. My students will learn that improvisers walk onto a stage with everything. And they will have a lot of fun doing it.
