Class Description

Welcome, Amanda Compton to CYT Tucson in the role of improv teacher extraordinaire!
Some of our summer campers will remember her as the special guest artist that taught them juggling.

In this session, we will cover theatre basics and movement. Students will play a variety of improvisational games to develop their acting skills while building confidence and stage presence. Scene work and character development will be part of this fun, fast-paced acting course for actors ages 8-12.

Amanda Compton

Hello! I currently teach Drama I and II at Vail Academy and High School. I hail from Kansas, and I graduated with a teaching degree from Northern Arizona University. I have coached and taught students for over five years, and I love taking on new challenges. Working with students from a variety of age groups helping them to make new discoveries, and developing their pre-existing awesomeness is a passion of mine. I recently taught a master class through CYT on juggling, and the experience was fantastic. I look forward to working with CYT and more wonderful students for a course this winter.
