In this class, students will get the opportunity to see things for what they COULD be. We will learn about theatrical props, their design, construction, and different stylizing techniques with hands-on projects that can be experienced on stage or admired, and potentially used, at home. We will be focusing on constructing projects that consist of found and low cost materials that will inspire outside of the box thinking, strengthening natural creativity and inventiveness. Some class creations will even be featured in the October production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!
Dustin recently graduated from the University of Arizona with his Master's Degree in Scenic Design. He also works as a props artisan and does a little acting on the side.
Theatre credits include, Living Dead in Denmark, Everybody, Still Standing with Arizona Repertory Theaer, Picnic, Abandoned Way Out West with Creede Repertory Theatre, Julius Caesar, Three Sister, Lord of the Flies, Clybourne Park, and Miss Nelson Is Missing, and I have been Props Master for the production of Pippin and The Crucible. I've also dabbled in the movie world in the stunts and acting departments in the movies, The Mustard Seed and Camp Cold Brook.
